Said M. AbouMerhi has been a Bookkeeper and tax professional for over 20 years working primarily with small and medium sized businesses. Upon graduation from college he worked as an independent financial analyst helping small to medium size businesses improving their profitability and cash-flow. Mr. AbouMerhi honed his knowledge and understanding of the accounting process by obtaining his Master’s degree in accounting with a 3.93 GPA. While attending to his Master’s degree program, Mr. AbouMerhi worked as a Senior Financial Analyst for the largest healthcare facility in the Houston area. He managed the financials, budgeting, and performed daily financial analysis for over 45 cost centers with over 250 employees. In 2003, Mr. AbouMerhi decided that his expertise can be put to better utilization helping small to medium size businesses by providing bookkeeping, compilation and review services. That is how A & W Business Solutions was founded. These services were provided for many different types of businesses including construction companies, home builders, physicians, home health agencies, medical equipment companies, lawyers, automobile dealers, wholesale and retail distributors and more. Mr. AbouMerhi along with his wife a nurse for over 5 years started a Nursing Staffing agency where Mr. AbouMerhi serves as the CFO.
Mr. AbouMerhi has and continues to assist clients in setting up their own businesses including their accounting system using QuickBooks software. Mr. AbouMerhi is in the QuickBooks Pro-advisor program.
Having prepared tax returns for almost 15 years, Mr. AbouMerhi has a vast understanding of the income tax code and knows how to navigate through its complexities. He has and continues to prepare complicated consolidated corporate income tax returns as well as returns for subchapter S corporations, limited liability companies (LLCs), and partnerships. He has also and continues to prepare complex individual returns with oil and gas interests and foreign sourced income to the simplest individual income tax return. Mr. AbouMerhi has also and continues to successfully represented clients through the IRS tax examination process as well as assisting and representing clients through their Sales Tax Audits.
